Medication reminders in the Health app
-
Open Health and go to Medications
In the Health app, tap Browse, then Medications. You can also add a Home Screen shortcut.
-
Add a medication
Tap Add a Medication, type the name (the app suggests matches from its database), and pick an icon and color so it's easy to spot in the list.
-
Set a schedule
Choose a frequency, daily, specific days of the week, or as needed, then the exact times you take it.
-
Confirm doses as they come up
When it's time, confirm the dose from the notification or directly in the app. It logs into the Medications history.
Where the Health app's limits show up
For simple reminding that's enough. A few things are missing for longer-term treatment or caring for someone else: refill tracking with a low-stock alert, separate profiles for people you care for (Health keeps one person's data, on one device), and a ready dose-history report you can hand a doctor without clicking through the app.
For one person on a short course, that's a minor gap. Managing several medications at once, or a parent's or child's, is where those gaps start to actually get in the way.
Reminders with refill tracking and profiles for family
Doserra adds refill tracking, a dose history you can export to PDF, and separate profiles in Caregiver mode on top of simple reminding.
