How to Batch Convert Images on Mac

Finder has a built-in Quick Action for converting images one at a time. Here's how to use it, and where batch jobs need something more.

Converting with Finder's Quick Action

  1. Select an image in Finder

Click the image file (or select several) you want to convert.

  2. Right-click and open Quick Actions

Right-click the selection, then hover Quick Actions in the context menu.

  3. Choose Convert Image

Select Convert Image, then pick a target format (JPEG, PNG, or HEIC) and, optionally, a resize percentage.

  4. Confirm and check the results

Click Convert. New files are saved alongside the originals in the same folder.

Where this falls short

The Quick Action covers JPEG, PNG and HEIC only, no TIFF, WebP, PSD or SVG. There's no quality preview before conversion, no per-file adjustment inside a batch, and no way to preview estimated file size before committing.

More formats, with a preview before you export

FlexiPic converts JPG, PNG, HEIC, TIFF, WebP, PSD and SVG in batches, with a preview and per-file fine-tuning.
